Why can't I buy or sell a stock? 🇸🇦

Written by Turki Alshaikh

There are a few common reasons why you may be unable to place a trade. Here's how to identify and fix the issue:

💰 Insufficient Funds

You may not have enough balance in the relevant wallet to cover the trade.

  • For KSA stocks – check your SAR wallet balance

  • For US stocks – check your USD wallet balance

Top up your account first, then try placing your order again.

📋 Open Orders Holding Your Funds

Any open (pending) orders reserve funds from your balance, reducing your buying power.

Buying Power = Total Cash − Value of All Open Orders

If your funds are tied up in open orders, cancel any you no longer need to free up your buying power immediately.

🔄 Corporate Action in Progress

If the company is undergoing a corporate action (e.g., stock split, merger, or name change), trading may be temporarily suspended by our brokerage partner. This is to protect you from potential errors during the transition.

The stock will become available to trade again once the corporate action is complete.
